On January 29, the ES109 seismic data acquisition system with independent intellectual property rights developed by CNPC BGP passed appraisal and acceptance test, making BGP one of the three geophysical service companies in the world that capable to manufacture such a sophisticated apparatus.
Seismic acquisition apparatus are crucial for geophysical prospecting. In December, 2009, CNPC BGP successfully accomplished a 1,683-spot 2-D project by using the ES109 system at Sidaogou in Xinjiang's Hami area. Vibroseis excitation and shot-hole excitation, as well as conventional 2-D, wide line 2-D, and conventional 3-D receive mode, were used in the operation process.
Experiments indicated that characterized by high speed and stable data transmission, the system can realize fast real-time QC, extension of channel number, and rapid online field test of geophones. This will help to improve seismic acquisition efficiency and effectively control data quality.
According to experts, the ES109 system will have great potential in the prospecting of hydrocarbon, coal, and mineral resources. It can meet the demand for geophysical prospecting at present and within a certain period in the future. It will surely provide BGP enhanced competence to identify more oil and gas resources.
CNPC BGP has applied for 17 patents, and won 16 proprietary technologies and four copyright registrations.
